Many folks are nervous about looking awkward in their portrait session. But portraiture is all about capturing the moment — the split second the parents look at their child adoringly or the time the couple cracked themselves up laughing when they didn’t know I was still shooting. When it’s your family photo session, you really will just feel like you’re comfortably hanging out with the people who know you best.
It’s my job to make you comfortable, to make you laugh, and to make you look good on film. While I give some infrequent direction on how to hold your body or where to place a hand, we really just hang out and chat and shoot. Easy as that!
I live for these moments of comfort and simplicity. I love getting to capture people at their most authentic selves. What an honor.
